500 gr rolled oats | |
1 tsp ground cinnamon | |
220 gr roughly chopped dark chocolate
250 gr roughly chopped almonds
2 bananas | |
600 gr peeled ripe figs | |
100 gr honey | |
150 gr tahini | |
40 gr dark chocolate for decorating
roughly cut almond for dusting |
1. | Melt figs and bananas using a multi cutter. |
2. | In a large mixing bowl combine rolled oats, cinnamon, almonds and chocolate. |
3. | In a small saucepan, melt honey in a low temperature. |
4. | Add honey and tahini in the fruits and combine. |
5. | Bring all the ingredients together and mix well. |
6. | Pre-heat oven to 180°C. Line a 25 x 35 cm baking pan with parchment paper. |
7. | Transfer oat mixture to prepared pan and press firmly into an even layer. (Be sure to really compact the mixture into the pan—it helps to use the bottom of a heavy glass or metal measuring cup.) |
8. | Bake granola bars for 20 minutes until golden brown and no longer sticky. |
9. | Let cool, in the pan for 15 minutes, transfer onto a cooling rack to cool completely. |
10. | Using a sharp chef’s knife, cut along into long rectangles. |
11. | If you like you can decorate bars with melted chocolate and chopped almonds. |
12. | You can preserve them in an air tight container. |
